CV crane licence

This course aims to impart the skills and knowledge required to be found competent for the unit of competency TLILIC0012A Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane 10 metre tonnes capacity and above and to meet the needs for a National High Risk Licence for Operating a vehicle loading crane of 10 meter tonnes capacity and above (CV Licence).


This course will cover the following areas:


  • Planning the work
  • Conducting routine checks
  • Setting up the crane
  • Transferring the load
  • Shutting down the and securing the crane


The above unit is nationally recognised and can only be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that complies with the governing standards of quality control and quality training and assessment.


Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the Nationally Recognised unit TLILIC0012A Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane 10 metre tonnes and above.  The course has a nominal duration of 5 days total. $1,800.00 or read 'Payments' page below for more pricing options.

This course consists of 4 training days and one day assessment.

Our courses usually start on Monday.

Training includes theory and calculations, and is assessed as "Knowledge" and "Calculations" assessment, according to National Assessment Instrument.

Practical part of training includes training in safe use of applicable vehicle mounted crane and is assessed as "Performance" part of assessment, usually as a last assessment.

To undertake this course, you must be:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Able to produce 100 Points of ID (See our administration team for details of these requirements)
  • From 01.01.2015. all students need to have USI. Please read more here: 
  • Able bodied, physically capable to moving around loads and working with other staff
  • Permanent resident of NSW (examption could be granted in certain circumstances)
  • Bring your own PPE, which includes:
    • Steel Capped Boots
    • Long trousers and long sleeve high vis shirt/jumper or vest
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses and gloves

Candidates can also enrol and attend part of the training and after that go to work with a logbook, providing they are fully supervised at all times by a licensed person.

Training can be continued in stages at a mutually agreed dates/times.

Once the candidate is deemed ready, full licensing assessment can take place.

Fees and Charges

Course Cost is $1,800.00 per participant. Corporate rates and group pricing is available

This training course is GST exempt.

A $1000.00 deposit is required to be paid at booking, this fee is fully refundable if your booking is cancelled with more than 7 days’ notice.

If the booking is cancelled with seven or less days’ notice, then only 50% of the booking fee is refundable.

The balance of the course fee is to be paid at the completion of the training, prior to the assessment sessions.

Upon completion of the course, the participant will be issued with a statement of attainment in the above unit, these statements of attainment are valuable documents and need to be retained, in the event that one is lost, a replacement is available for a fee of $22.00 including GST.

Participants who do not satisfactorily complete the course in the first attempt have 90 days from the course completion to undertake a second attempt at the assessment at no additional cost.  Participants who fail in their second attempt at the course assessment, or wait longer than 90 days to undertake the second attempt will need to reenrol into the course and pay the full course fee.

Full course fee must be paid prior to issuing official course outcome documentation (Statement of Attainment, Notice of Satisfactory Assessment/Assessment Summary). In case where we have not received the full payment, documentation will be sent via Registered Mail upon receipt of payment, at no additional cost.
